“No mother should have to beg for hospice care for her child.” Mother of a patient There is a decrease in the number of hospice home cares willing to provide care for pediatric patients. Research shows that this is a trend across the nation and leaves families especially in rural areas with no support as they care for their dying child at home. This would not be acceptable for an adult yet is the case in many areas of our region. However, there are great success stories. Lake wood hospice and ChildrensMN worked together providing continuity, compassion and excellent hospice care for a pediatric patient. In this work shop we will dispel myths, share the success story and resources for education and support. The work shop will have time to answer questions and concerns.
