Description

Provide education and expand the level of knowledge and expertise to interdisciplinary clinicians around grief, ambiguous loss, and individual/systems differences in grief. This training will improve attendees ability to assess, diagnosis and navigate the complexities of grief presentations, including depression, grief, and suicidality. Additionally attendees with be able to increase competence in the diagnostic and intervention approaches to those with life limiting illnesses and their survivors.

 

Learning Outcomes

1. Describe the differences between grief, bereavement, ambiguous loss, prolonged grief disorder, and disenfranchised grief. 2. Be able to assess and respond to the differences between depression, grief, and suicidality. 3. Identify and describe at least two strategies to support the navigation of disenfranchised grief, ambiguous loss, and the interconnections of empathic failures to diverse backgrounds
