Melissa is an associate professor and BSW Program Director in the School of Social Work at St. Thomas University in St. Paul, MN. She teaches the loss and grief course and the death and dying course in the undergraduate program and grief counseling in the graduate school among other social work courses. Her 20+ years of practice working with families facing cancer prior to transitioning to academia continues to shape her scholarship and passion for supporting the dying parent with minor children.
